2016 Architizer A+Awards Finalist: Masterplan

Bluegreen is thrilled to announce that Reiling Dredge Historic Park Master Plan is a finalist in the 2016 Architizer A+Awards! The Architizer A+Awards are a global architectural award program with 90+ categories and over 300 judges.  A global jury of architects, thought leaders, and designers select one winner, and the public selects one for the A+ Popular Choice Award.

Reiling Dredge celebrates history as it establishes a framework for ecologically-sound interpretation.  A history of mineral excavation around Breckenridge, Colorado has generated profound disturbance to the regional landscape. One such operation, the Reiling Dredge, overturned an existing creek bed and adjacent land in its search for wealth. Remains of the historic vessel and its rock tailings are threatened by competing interests, natural wear and human impact.  Bluegreen and the team was called upon to develop a unified vision and master plan. Driven by stakeholder-generated desires to preserve the dredge's legacy of environmental admonition, while privileging a future of ecological restoration, what developed is a comprehensive plan that allows the story of the site to unfold subtly within the context of an evolving landscape.
