healthy rivers whitewater park

The Healthy Rivers program's Whitewater Park project aims to ensure water remains in the Roaring Fork River during low flow periods. To do this and achieve the program’s other goals of improving water quality and quantity, the project enables recreational uses both in the river and streamside. Phase one included construction of the wave features. Bluegreen joined the team, which includes River Restoration and Diggin’ It River Works, in Phase two, to expand recreational uses.  Stakeholders groups are helping to develop the conceptual design and once implemented, it will protect critical ecology, restore degraded habitats, and provide learning opportunities.
